Hi Filipinos...i have a question about Jose Rizal?
being a polymath/ Renaissance man doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be a genius, but just knowledgeable in different subject areas. Rizal is considered a Renaissance man being such and is listed among the likes of Da Vinci, Isaac Newton, Michelangelo etc. (a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Renaissance_men)," rel="nofollow"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ren…/a but then he used his knowledge not for the benefit of the whole world, but to help his countrymen obtain freedom from the 300+ rule of the Spaniards peacefully through institutional reform rather than through violent revolution, although he would support "violent means" as a last resort which gave the revolution a national character. He is also conversant to almost 22 languages which is not shocking because he lived abroad for many years to pursue his studies and career. He is also remembered in parts of the world wherein he spent sometime like a plaque in HONGKONG near his residence, monuments in MADRID, WILHEMSFIELD GERMANY, JINJIANG,FUJIAN, CHINA, CHICAGO, CHERRY HILL TOWNSHIP NEW JERSEY, SAN DIEGO, SEATTLE CITY, MEXICO CITY, LIMA, PERU, LITOMERICE CZECH REPUBLIC & TORONTO,ONTARIO, CANADA. Rizal bronze bust was erected at La Molina district, Lima, Peru. This being that he only contributed in the betterment of the Filipino people and not worldwide...
