N Da Vinci's "The Last Supper"what is the artist communicating in his creation using specific elements?

Since you asked it here, I will give a personal interpretive opinion. I do not know if it matches an "official" histoire d'art opinion. I think it communicates intimacy through perceivable facial expressions and observable activity of disciples. It also communicates the troubled gravity of that time though use of light and shadow.
