If given a chance, how many states would seceed from the present overbearing central government?

If people were given a chance to opt out of a government that tells you to wear a belt when driving or pay, use a certain light bulb, flush a certain toilet, do not cut off the label on your mattress, and a thousand other things...what would be the result. I think many would in good conscience say NO to this monster created by people who think they act to benefit you, but really, they all leave office as millionaires in some mysterious way. YES...WE ARE CORRUPT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.
