Running business with partner. Bad idea?

Me and my bf of two years run a business together. It's quite a new business (6 months) so we still have many decisions to make etc. Some discussions end in arguments which ends in fights and us screaming. He has a very short temper as it is and were both stubborn. I dont want the relationship to suffer from business. Does anyone have any suggestions to make sure things run smoothly? It's not like it happens alot or anything but would b good to know ideas for wen times like these come up. I've heard u need to take ur passionate feelings out of the business equation.
